Mario Gotze Sport Footballer Plays
Mario Götze born 3 June 1992 is a German footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga. Götze is considered to be an up-and-coming, potential world class player due to his speed, technical skill and creativity. German Football Association's technical director Matthias Sammer called him "one of the best talents that we've ever had". Götze is a product of Dortmund's youth academy, first entering the club as an 8-year-old. He made his Bundesliga debut on 21 November 2009 in a 0–0 draw against 1. FSV Mainz 05, coming on as a substitute for Jakub Błaszczykowski in the 88th minute.

The 18 year-old attacking midfielder had a big influence on Dortmund’s title winning campaign this season. The German international’s progress has come to the attention of Barca, says BILD, and the Spanish giants have had scouts watch Gotze in the last six games.

Goetze, who played on the right flank during the autumn campaign, has fitted in flawlessly for injured No. 10 Kagawa in recent weeks. His fine performances for Dortmund have earned him two caps for Germany's senior side, as well as a contract extension to 2014.

Much to United's dismay, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has in recent months scuppered any rumours of his team's players leaving the Ruhr region. "Mario Goetze has a contract until 2014," he recently told Deutsche Welle. "He will play during this time at Borussia Dortmund, nowhere else, no matter what is to come."

Dortmund have in recent months extended the contracts of highly rated stars Goetze, Sven Bender and Neven Subotic to 2014 or later. The 1997 European champions have spent the majority of the last decade rebuilding, and, with the Bundesliga title in their sights, are preparing for the 2011-12 Champions League with hopes of bringing their best squad to the tournament.
